If you are a long-term lash extensions user, you would already know retention varies from different salons and different artists. At Angelina Studio, we control every aspect of how well Lash Extensions will last. Sadly it is not just us, the client is also responsible for controlling the retention of Lash Extensions.
I am not a typical Salon kind of answer, my answers come from my own experience, and 50% of what you know from social media is not true.
Lash Artist Controllable Checklist
Glue: The Glue I use is already at the top of the industry, trial and error-ed over 5 years to find a perfect one. You can even use oil cleansing on it, though I don't recommend so, leaving the oil-resistant part to oily skins will do.
Weather: No details, it shall forever be my secret.
Lash Lock Technique: It's a Lock. Let's be real, I'm human, and though not perfect, more than 90% of the extensions are a full lock technique.
With these above, you are looking at 4-8 weeks of retentions with touch up provided if you do not rub your lashes. (70%-80% full, client experienced).
Client Controllable Checklist:
Rubbing of Eyes: It is prohibited to rub your eyelashes, with or without lash extensions. Rubbing without lash extensions will already cause your natural lash to fall, and with lash extensions just going to cause more pressure to the natural lash and cause it to fall even more. Not adding on, our technique is a lock to your natural lashes.
Water: Yes, wash your lashes. It's a need. Do not soak your lashes in water for more than the duration you wash your face. Immediately dap your lashes dry with a tissue. Soaking in water weakens the lashes' glue bond.
Cotton: Cotton buds, Cotton wools, and their fibres will hook onto your lash extensions. Tugging and Pulling of the fibres will cause even your natural lashes to fall.
Makeup around the eye: Yes it affects retention, but if you have an event, there is no reason not to put any. We got to be the prettiest out there!
With the above information, natural lashes' growth and fall are caused by an individual's habit. The usual social media of, "A human drops 3-5 natural lashes daily" is technically BS to me. Just by looking at the client's natural lashes, I can tell if the client is a right or left-hander, I'm usually 90% correct as usually one eye will have more lashes than the other.
